County Cup Quarter Final Gosforth U13's v Berwick U13's Sunday 7th Feb 2010.

A very busy day at Druid Park meant this fixture was played on a heavy pitch at North Shields. Gosforth were quick to strike and scored from an initially drive into the Berwick goal area and be grounded by Sam O'Neil.

The squad pushed forward at every opportunity and scored with confidence, the forwards working hard to secure and protect and the backs to give the team plenty of speed out wide.

Danny Marshall got 3 out of the 4 conversions whilst picking his way through the puddles and his partnership with Dan North demonstrated the ability this team has when forwards and backs work together.

All of the 17 members available played and the training was paying off as the North Shields lads have settled into the squad well and proven to be an inspiration, especially in the tackling department with some great defensive work which kept the visiitors down to just an unconverted try.

A well deserved 26 - 5 score to take the team through to the semi-finals against Ponteland at Druid Park Feb 28th.

Gosforth U13s vs Gateshead U13s

No matter the weather, the Under 13's hunted down like lions and put on a fantastic performance. Off the back of a great performance agaisnt a very strong Alniwick side the team faced up to the Gateshead side.

Both sides had to put up a titanic performance and the efforts were brill. The Gosforth side fought back and produced a 22-22 draw at a wind beaten and sodden pitch at Gateshead.

Danny Marshall tried his best and struck wood work twice in a great effort from out wide but made up with an outstanding interception move to score from inside our own half.

Not to take anything anyway from some outstandoing efforts from each and every player to bring home the draw.

This side, which is merging three diffrent sides, is going from strenght to strength and can only get better. We have to admirdhow they all gave there all in some testing conditions and did their club might pround.

Well done lads and have lets push on now and take the most from every game we play.
